The first time I met Leanne Holitza was years ago when I scheduled an energy healing session with her. Within minutes (if not seconds) of meeting her, she told me I had a gluten sensitivity (a truth I would later learn for certain) and asked who the guy was that had passed away that had a bunch of opinions to share with me (my dad). Since then I have taken all of Leanne’s Energy Awareness classes, numerous other classes, had many energy healing sessions and have sent many of my friends her way–all of which come back to me singing her praises. I had the opportunity to chat with Leanne a few weeks ago. This is a bit of what she had to say.
How would you describe what you do?
I help people align with their higher self’s original intention and their authentic truth. How I do it gets a little more complicated. I work with the conscious, subconscious and unconscious. I work to get people back in alignment with what their higher self wants versus what got put in there accidentally as a result of being in the physical plane.
What is the higher self?
It’s your soul’s original intention that it wanted when it decided to go into a body and have a particular experience in the physical plane. That original soul intention was determined before your soul got in your body. But when you get in the body and are in the physical plane, you tend to forget your soul’s intention. Forgetting is somewhat intentional because that is how you learn, and you came into the physical plane to learn. If you did remember you would try to control it too much. But in the physical plane, basically, life happens, and you get traumatized a bit, this gets you off your intended path and I help people get back on that.
How long have you been doing energy healing?
I didn’t start doing it for work until 2007, but I was doing this before I knew I was doing it. It is probably one of my soul intentions to have this knowledge intact somewhat and then be reminded and woken up when I did around 2006-2007.
How did you ultimately get into energy healing?
They say the universe will tap you on the shoulder, whisper in your ear, give you a little smack in the face and then drop a piano on your head. There was a definite moment where the universe dropped the energetic piano on my head. I won’t go into all the specifics but basically it was a big moment of what I thought my life was and it suddenly being all shook up to what it really was.
I was looking at a huge change in life and thinking, ‘What the heck?!?’. Prior to this, I was definitely a Type-A box checker type. I had my Master’s degree, was married, pregnant and climbing the corporate ladder by the time I was 22. I was doing all the “right” things—everything that I thought was appropriate to do in life. Then this thing happened. I was really mad at the universe. I was like, “I’ve done everything that I was asked to do, why is this happening to me? Why me?”
Then, I started to get hints. I got a reading at a coffee shop and the guy told me you could do this. And I just thought – how does one become a psychic barista? He told me about classes he took that happened to start that next week. I signed up right away. As I took those classes, I learned I had other abilities.
When I was listening to the universe it was telling me – you have to go do this. I was having a dark night of the soul. Nothing I believed was true and every way I had to shift was life-altering. I would never see life the same again.
It is interesting because I took your Energy Awareness classes and as I’ve said many times, I had no idea why I was taking them, I just signed up. And I feel like after I’ve taken those classes I’ll never see myself the same way again, I’ll never see the world the same way again, and just for that little tiny bit of experience, the world has shifted for me.
I remember coming home to my husband and saying, “I am going into this realm and there’s no coming back. I am going into this and our life is going to be different.”
And not knowing, he was like “Sure! That’s fine. That’s great. Go for it”. Boy was that an adjustment for him too.
You go from the baller corporate job to something that’s the total opposite. Was that difficult for you to express this to friends? How did the people around you take that?
I actually lost quite a few friendships over it which you know looking back now— it’s totally fine. Those friendships were not in alignment with me. They were in alignment with what was presented to me in the world.
It was hard at first. I didn’t all of the sudden in 2007 become an energy healer. I was doing it on the side while I was still doing the corporate world.
Around this time, we had this dinner party with neighbors we didn’t really know. They were saying the meal was so amazing and they assumed I made it because you know, gender roles. But I told them my husband made it; I worked all day. They asked if my corporate job made me work that day and I said that I worked at a metaphysical shop doing energy healings. There was an awkward pause. My husband looked at me like I can’t believe you just told the neighbors that, and then, it was this awkward subject shift to talking about the weather.
Afterward, one of the wives came up to me and said, “My husband doesn’t believe in any of this, but I am really interested in what you do.”
Then, it became this thing where the neighbors would come to me kind of secretly. More and more I came to accept it, and I just stopped caring if people thought I was crazy or not. I just started doing my truth. The more I did my truth the more I was helping people, the more people wanted to come and get help. It kind of went from there.
How did you decide to take the leap from corporate America to energy healing?
I did end up getting laid off from my corporate job and on that day my guides said to me, very loudly, “We granted you a wish!” I did not say thank you. I just thought, “What the heck? You have to be kidding me.” That was back in 2009.
I was being told “go be an energy healer” but I had no idea how one goes to do that. How does one drop an MBA and all of this experience and just walk away? So, I didn’t. For a year I was a consultant, but barely, for a company, and then, I was doing energy healing on the side.
The whole time my original corporate job was recruiting me to go back. I asked for a lot of money to return. That was my test, and of course, they said yes. So, I went back for a year, and it was kind of to tie up loose ends in my consciousness. Then, I knew it wasn’t me anymore. By 2013, I decided this is my full-time thing – to do energy healings and to teach classes.
In your energy healings are there common themes people come to talk to you about?
It is all over the board but mostly it is some consciousness crisis. Such as, “I don’t know how to see the world differently, but I need to.” It is a grand reframe. People come in and whatever is going on with them gets reframed around the soul’s intention. I have dealt with kids, business partners, couples, individuals, animals. Consciousness is consciousness. There aren’t any restrictions about the type of person.
Do you find kids are easier to work with than adults?
Not necessarily. It really depends on their soul consciousness and the family’s they picked. If they get to me, they at least picked a family that is opened enough to take them to me.
I have had little ones say they need me at their birth. I don’t know if those little ones would have had a good experience if I was not there holding space for them.
Kids can get just as blocked as adults. There is a time period where kids just don’t want this because they are in a big phase of ego development. Maybe between 12 and 13 to maybe 19. I have had kids in those age ranges, but they get kind of skeptical. The really sensitive kids come back fairly quickly.
People in their early 20s are easier to work with because they have been through the ego thing. This age is easier to work with because they can align with their truth.
How do you handle skeptics?
I have had skeptics come in who have been sent by someone else. They are really rigid energetically and want to test me. They ask me to tell them what they had for breakfast, and that is not exactly how this works. I am not going to tell them what they had for breakfast. Those people want you to tell them very specifics so they can believe you. The specifics that come out in a reading often are what they already know or sort of know but it is bringing it to light. That should be the “evidence”.
It sounds like what you are saying is people come to you because the train fell off the tracks and they want to get back on the track. Would you agree with that?
Yes. I would love it if people came to me before they fell off the tracks. But most people do not come into my office because they are having a happy day.
Is there a common reason people get off track with their soul’s original intention?
For the same reason, mine fell off the track—I wasn’t living in alignment with my authentic self. People fall off the track because they are trying to be something they are not. They are trying to do something that is not in alignment with them anymore.
But sometimes what feels like getting off track is a contracted experience, and the people who are in it are freaking out because they didn’t realize when they made this soul contract to have this experience that it would be this hard.
Your soul may have decided it wanted a really nasty divorce with a really nasty custody battle. Sometimes things going wrong is not because someone isn’t in alignment with their higher self’s intention, it is a contract their soul had made about having a particular experience in the physical plane.
Do you have any success stories you are particularly proud of?
Sometimes people have success stories, and I don’t get told right away or for years afterward. I will tell one story anonymously. There was a woman who was going through a divorce and she had a prenup. She was with a man who was very wealthy, and she had a child with him. She wanted out but she did not know how to get out because they were living an extreme lifestyle. With the prenup, she would go back to not having that extreme lifestyle and she did not know how to reconcile that with being a mother to a child who was used to a particular life. She wanted to manifest more income from the divorce so she could maintain the lifestyle her child was used to. He had lots of lawyers.
There was a lot of energetic work we had to do regarding her worth and what she was buying into regarding the situation. We worked on her consciousness and her system until she went into mediation and was solid in her truth. The first time he said no, and they had to go back. But that was because she had this wobble still.
We got her to be super solid in her manifestation space and then she said again, this is what I want, and he said ok. And she said, “Oh my god. I can’t believe this worked. She was very grateful.” I still work with her. Sometimes we have to remind her consciousness of what she can do.
What I work with is not always about money, but in that situation, it was about helping her staying in a certain lifestyle while getting out of a marriage.
In that situation, are you doing most of the healing? Is it 50/50? Is she even conscious of what is happening to her?
Most of it unconscious and subconscious energy that I am working with. It is her consciousness, but she does not necessarily know everything I am doing.
I wouldn’t say it is me. It is her consciousness having a conversation with me and as I am having a conversation with her consciousness and suggesting it shift itself, it shifts so she becomes a different frequency. She is holding the frequency. I have helped remind the frequency of what its original intentions were.
I am sure it varies, but how long does this shift in consciousness take?
It does vary because with some people it can be a minute of an hour session and they can go shift their entire lives. If it is something bigger it can take a while. People come to me for a couple of months or visit me at inflection points where they need extra support in change.
For an entire shift in consciousness, I would not say two months isn’t very long.
True. I do have people that come to me over many years. At that point, most of what they are working on with me is they just love to hear about the universe and consciousness. The sessions get really deep in the consciousness energies. It is really fun. I really like the clients that come to me over time. The guides say some pretty profound things.
What kind of questions do you wish people would ask or do you think would be helpful for people?
It is very helpful when people are curious about themselves. When they want to know what they are up to on this planet and what they are here to do. Rather than telling a story and asking for input on the story.
Everyone here has a unique frequency. Everyone is here to have a unique experience that their frequency can create. I am here to create an awareness that we are more powerful than we were originally taught, and our consciousness has a lot of power.
If I were to look at your purpose, you are here for more adventure and not necessarily status quo, while still living status quo. You’re a demonstration of that and that people around you are influenced by you doing things a little bit differently and not always playing it safe.
What would you say is the difference between what you do and typical talk therapy?
I would never discourage anyone from going to therapy. I love therapy. With me, you don’t have to tell me your whole story. I can pretty much pick it up. It is sometimes helpful to know part of a story just to put a voice around it.
I feel like in typical talk therapy the therapist can only get as far as what you tell them. Sometimes I can see stuff you forgot about or that you thought you were done with. I can then help you pull it through and work on it without necessarily having to relive it.
I feel like one hour with you is six weeks with a therapist.
Do you think everyone has this ability? Can everyone be Leanne?
I once heard this described as everyone can learn to play the piano but not everyone is going to be a professional pianist and that is kind of how I see this. Everyone can learn to be more aware of their consciousness and look at their energy bodies. Not everyone can learn to do it for other people and not everyone wants to do it for other people. I have had people say they want to do what I do and then when they start, they say, “Oh my God, how do you do this?”
I am in people’s darkness. I am in where the light isn’t and that can be pretty intense. Everyone can learn it. What you do with it is up to you.
One of the gifts I got from your Energy Awareness classes is I have learned to differentiate my intuition and truth from fear, paranoia and thoughts.
You can feel the truth. Your whole system informs you when you are in something or not in something.
You and your son Mason have weekly conversations on Facebook live. One of the topics you recently spoke about was toxic positivity. How do you define this?
In the world of The Secret and manifesting and being positive the message is “just be positive and things will come to you.” That is not exactly how it works. That is really dumbing it down. I appreciate that you have to start somewhere. I have also found that people are just trying to be happy all of the time just so they can have what they think that they want. But that is only going to get you stuff while it builds up your subconscious with things you are not addressing.
If I am genuinely frustrated, expressing it in some way is useful. I do not necessarily have to walk around wearing it but if I am just trying to affirm it away, it becomes toxic because it is something that is not true. Our system starts to say, “This is not true. This is not true.” And it starts to get locked up energetically because you are not in alignment with the truth, with your authentic truth.
Are the outcomes of toxic positivity and toxic negativity the same?
Mistruth is mistruth. I won’t name names but I know one person who will never let the world see anything negative and there is never a bad word spoken. Nobody feels connected to that person. Because there is nowhere to connect. There is no truth.
Do you think there is a reason people choose toxic positivity over toxic negativity?
I think you are taught somewhere along the lines albeit religion or gender roles or some source that you are not allowed to have either any negative feelings or any positive feelings. It is intense how much the world asks us to be fake and how we are not allowed to be vulnerable. If we were as psychic as we can be, we would be much cleaner with our own thoughts.
Anything else you would like to share, or you feel is important to add?
I really want people to understand their own power. When you learn this stuff, you can use it to beat yourself up. You can say, “Oh my gosh I didn’t know that my chakras could get out of alignment and I am a terrible person all the time.” That is not the point. This is about empowerment. When you know better you do better. No matter what path people take to know themselves I hope they do it with loving gentle curiosity rather than strong judgment of needing to fix themselves because we do not need to be fixed. That is not the point.
