Doing Feng Shui for wealth is free, will likely take less than an hour of your time (and perhaps only a few minutes) and I have never seen it not work. Never.
How to do it? Six super easy steps:
1. Go to the room you use the most
2. Find your money corner in this room
Stand in the doorway of this room and face into the room. (If there is more than one doorway to this room – stand in the doorway you use the most.) Point your hand to the far, far left corner of the room. This corner is the money corner of the room.
3. Clear (and clean) out your money corner
Now that you have located your money corner let’s get it working for you. Here is what you need to do:
a) Remove all of the following from this area:
- Anything you do not use regularly, do not like, is unnecessary or clutter
- Dead plants
- Dirt and dust (make this area sparkle!)
- Anything that reminds you of people, places, events or times you would prefer not to think about or remember
- Garbage cans or bags
- Anything broken or needing repair
- Anything that has a negative connotation to money such as unpaid bills, mortgage payment reminders, receipts for things you wish you would not have purchased, thing you wish you would not have purchased, etc.
b) Once everything is removed from the area give it a very good cleaning – sweep, mop, get mystery splatter off the walls, etc.
3. Now spruce up your Money corner with the Feng Shui symbols and colors of money
With the Feng Shui no-no’s taken care of, now it is time to put the prosperity and wealth symbols in your corner. To do so add any of the following:
- Anything purple, red, gold or green (assuming it does not also fall in the category of what was listed above to remove i.e. do not put a purple garbage can or a red broken lamp in this area).
- Symbols of money such as Monopoly or any board game money, piggy banks, photos of your dream house, car or vacation, costume jewelry or your jewelry box, savings account statements, etc.
- Things that represent (or are) moving water such as a photo of a geyser or a fast moving river. If you have an indoor fountain this area of the home would be a great place to put it
- Round-leafy, healthy plants
- Your change jar
- Foreign currency – have left over coins or bills from a trip you took and don’t know what to do with them? Put them in your money corner or change jar. Put them in a green, purple, gold or red bowl for extra credit!
It is important to note that these things do not actually need to be seen. For example, if you had red, purple, green or gold paper you could put this behind or under a table or shelf in this area.
4. Repeat (if desired) in the room you use 2nd most, 3rd most etc.
Want to make sure you have given your house all the good money energy it can manage? Do the same thing for the room you use second most, third most, etc.
5. Money corner maintenance (super critical)
Now that your Feng Shui is in alignment it is critical that this area is kept very clean, free of dust, dirt or mess and of course, free of clutter. Consider it the shrine of your finances – because it is. Also, keeping adding money to that change jar and try not to borrow from it. Let is symbolize what you want your money to do – stay with you and keep growing!

The farthest left corner of my house is in the garage. Do I have to feng shui my garage? That would involve a lot of cleaning and de-cluttering.
deliciousday says
Hi Tamra, Is your garage connected to your house? If not, Feng Shui the corner that is the farthest to the left inside your house, but make super sure your garage is neat and free of clutter and put some of the symbols of wealth in there as well!

Some online sources are saying the wealth corner is the southeast corner of your house.Others say to line up the bagua chart with your front door at the bottom, then it’s the room that lines up with the wealth square. Both these methods gives me the same room in my house, but not the same room as your method. I’m so confused.
deliciousday says
Hi Beth, Thanks for your comment! I believe there are different schools of thought around Feng Shui. The way I use seems to work great for me but certainly others feel the same way about their methodology. Perhaps the best way to do it is to Feng Shui every corner as if it was the money corner. 🙂

Historically, feng shui was widely used to orient buildings—often spiritually significant structures such as tombs, but also dwellings and other structures—in an auspicious manner. Depending on the particular style of feng shui being used, an auspicious site could be determined by reference to local features such as bodies of water, stars, or a compass. Feng shui was suppressed in China during the cultural revolution in the 1960s, but since then has increased in popularity.’..

I get confused, some books say wealth is in southeast, others book say northeast.
My entrance faces west, back door east. Where is my wealth corner? And is west my career or creativity area.
Thank u .

Hello Beth,
My dining room is my wealth area, do I put everything in the farthest corner of the room or just in the room somewhere?

My money corner is in my living room where I have a small wall hanging bookcase. I have books a photo of a departed friend and wooden elephants. Do I need to remove all the books, most of them are about spiritual/law of attraction/ self development etc…
I would appreciate your answer on this
Kind regards

Hi, I have just been reading your site and have found it so easy to understand…….thank you for this. We have a toilet and closet in my wealth area In our new home. Since moving here my husband and I (we have just retired) have never been able to make ends meet despite the fact that we should in theory be better off than ever before. We were so looking forward to having nice days out now our 3 daughters are grown up and have their own lives. However, it’s been really hard and depressing. I would be so grateful for any advice that you could offer us.
Thanking you so much, in anticipation

Hi
When i stand at my front door looking in, the farthest left corner of my house is the toilet of my master bedroom, and i can see the toilet bowl and washing basin, However on the left of the toilet door, is a small wall of about 50cm. So is the toilet my wealth area and if so how do i go about ‘fengshui’ it.
Also for my kitchen, from the kitchen door, looking in, the farthest left corner is the kitchen window, and next to the window on the farthest left is the kitchen toilet. So how do i ‘fengshui’ this area too?
And for another bedroom, the furthest left corner is the window too, but there is s mssing corner, which is the northwest side. Grateful for your reply. Thank you.

Great article! I did this about a month ago when I read someone else’s blog about the “money corner” of the house. I did this and started getting bills in the mail!! It was like the exact opposite of what I expected. Very disappointing. I have a very live luscious plant back there and it is also a family space, so there are some kids toys there but I have been routinely cleaning the area to make it feel free and flowing. I do have a door in that area that leads outside. Do you think I need to do something about that (outside of removing it) 🙂

Hi there
My personal preference when a particular area of the Bagua is especially important – typically money and wealth is to feng shui those corners of every room. So instead of worrying about missing an area of the Bagua – just lay the Bagua out for every room. For example in your living room – Feng Shui for wealth in far back left corner. In your bedroom Feng Shui for wealth in the far back corner, etc. I find it works wonders and is much easier than worrying about not having certain areas of the bagua. 🙂

I am missing my wealth and prosperity area. I love in a one bedroom. Which the front door comes right into my bedroom. My. I have two closets in my bedroom. To the right is my living room. Then straight out of my living room is my kitchen. And my bathroom is connected to my kitchen and has a small closet. I have a back porch. I have a lot of bagua spaces missing. How do I correct these missing. Spaces??? Thank you
Linda says
Hey there! No problem. Instead of trying to lay the bagua map over your entire apartment, just lay it over the room you use the most and Feng Shui for the areas you are interested in. Then lay it over the room you use second most and Feng Shui that room for the areas of your life you are interested in (e.g., love or money). Does that help? Let me know how it goes!
