One of the most popular questions I get asked is – “Where is my money corner?” Good news, it is super easy to find. Here is my answer to this very popular question along with what to do, what not to do and a few great tips for this area.
How to Find Your Money Corner in Any Room
Go stand in the doorway of the room you use the most and face into it. Look at the farthest left corner of you room. This is your Money area in Feng Shui. (Some people do Feng Shui by having one Money corner for the whole house, I do it starting with finding the Money corner for each room because it is easier and has the same success.)
NOTE: If your room has more than one entrance, use the entrance that you would most likely utilize if you were entering the room from the Front Door of your home. The Front Door of your home is the door the architect of the home would consider the main entrance to your house.
What to Do in Your Feng Shui Money Corner
- Know that you can do the “do” items listed below in one, some or all of the money corners of the rooms in your home.
- Also, know you can also do this on your desk. If you do it on your desk, use where you sit as your “door”.
- Add one, some or all of the items listed below.
- Do not add so many that it ruins or hinders the aesthetic of the area or room.
- Make sure whatever you add looks pleasing.
- Know that nothing you add needs to be seen to work. You can put these things in a drawer, in a book, behind furniture, behind art, etc.
- Get a box or a bowl and put spare change or bills in it. (If you only do one thing – do this!) If you want you can also:
- Put money from other countries if you have it.
- Put fake money from Monopoly or another game in it.
- Put gift cards with a few extra dollars on it in here.
- Put checks you received and deposited via mobile deposit.
- If you lost an earring put the remaining one here or put jewelry you never wear anymore here. Jewelry symbolizes wealth, so it is good for this area.
- This is also a great area to have a piggy bank.
- Add the color green, column-shaped objects, items made from wood or reminiscent of it such small trees, textiles, paper, photos/art/sculptures of trees, etc.
- Add items that remind you of wealth or of what you will do when you have more money.
- Add actual water (think fish tank, fountain), pictures or symbols or water, mirror(s), black and/or blue and undulating shapes.
- Try to continually add money to your money box / bowl. This gives off the energy that you continually have the financial resources to give.
What Not to Do in Your Feng Shui Money Corner
- Don’t have have dirt, dust, clutter or messes in this area.
- Don’t have this area hold anything that reminds you of bad financial situations. (If you have a lot of bills that stress you out, don’t store or pay them here.)
- Don’t have anything in this area that is a reminder of bad times or negative memories.
- Limit or avoid white, pastels, circular objects and/or metal here.
- Limit or avoid red, objects that remind you of fire or pointy objects here.
- Try not to take money out of your money bowl. It gives off the energy of you “lacking” money.
- Don’t freak out if you have to take money out for a reason. It is my emergency fund when I need a few bucks from time to time too. 🙂
